About Nexcelom Bioscience

Nexcelom Bioscience LLC is a designer, developer and manufacturer of innovative devices and instruments for cell-based assays used in cancer research and drug discovery. Based on critical input from researchers, Nexcelom's solutions automate the time-consuming counting procedures for hundreds of different cell types, enabling scientists to focus less on the process and more on the research results. Nexcelom's products are currently being used in the labs of leading pharmaceutical companies, Biotech organizations, universities, and research institutions.

Cellometer® - Delivering on the Needs of the Biologist

The Cellometer product line was developed with the input of many of our customers. While providing disposable cell counting chambers for labs at the National Institute of Health, we heard many of our colleagues expressing frustration about manual cell counting. Although a very critical component in cell research and experimentation, manually counting cells is a tedious, time consuming, and eye straining task that often has variable results depending on how the technician counts.

As we listened and observed their workflow, we researched potential solutions. With our collective experiences in instrument design and manufacturing, medical imaging software development, and optical polymer product design and production, we came up with potential solutions for discussion and refinement with them. Within 6 months, we delivered the best solution: Auto T4 cell counter, the smallest, fastest, and simplest automatic cell counting method available. The Cellometer Auto T4 consists of a cell counter instrument, cell counting software, and the consumable cell counting chamber slide.

“The Cellometer Auto T4 is a fantastic machine that saves our lab a lot of time! It is simple to use and small.”

Wide-Spread Use Among Biologists

Ever since, Auto T4 has propagated to all major institutions, universities, pharmaceutical and biotech companies. It has been used in vaccine development, drug discovery, biological manufacturing, cell banking, and teaching. It has been used in the field of cancer research and immunology.

"Before the counter, it took a long time to count and put strain on our eyes. Now it is quick and very easy on the eyes.

All throughout this process, our customers have been a part of our team. We remain in your labs and listen to your needs. Your suggestions have improved our software to provide more benefit to the lab workflow. When users want to count cells that are not suitable for the Cellometer Auto T4, we heard you and expanded the Cellometer Auto cell counter family to include additional products targeted at new applications, delivering a product designed to best suit each workflow with simplicity.

"Using the Auto T4 has greatly increased the efficiency and ease of counting cells in our lab, especially on high volume sample days. It is the only counter that consistently works for non-human primate applications. Before it would take 2-3 hours to count-now less than 20 minutes.
