Cellometer® Automatic Cell Counter - Cell Size Histogram

After each cell counting, cell size histogram data is obtained by Cellometer® cell counters. The cell size histogram can be pasted into Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint for presentation and further data processing.

Cell size histogram is also used to identify different cell types in a heterogeneous sample.

Example #1 Dentretic cells cultured from PBMC

For cell image on the right, cell size histogram showed two size populations.

Based on the cell size histogram, one cell type was set up to measure DC cell concentration, where another cell type was set up for the smaller sized cells.

Multiple cell size histograms are used to monitor cell size change during cell culture processes.

Example #2 Insect cell SF9 used for protein expression

As shown in the images, SF9 cell size enlarges after infection by bacular virus. Cellometer® Auto T4 cell counter was used to systematically measure the cell size distribution and the mean cell diameter change.
