Position Summary:

Nexcelom Bioscience has an immediate opening for a Senior Quality Control Engineer, based at corporate headquarters in Lawrence, Massachusetts. Reporting to the Head of Production this role will ensure that all products meet or exceed our strict inspection process across consumable high volume and instrument low volume production lines prior to shipping to the customer. Support production lines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that all of our product meets or exceeds our quality standard through direct product inspection
  • Define and maintain the QC evaluation process across all stages of production
  • Create and/or improve quality control SOP’s
  • Inspect incoming parts to ensure they meet dimensional and/or cosmetic criteria
  • Investigate root cause of QC issues and work closely with the appropriate teams to devise corrective actions
  • Propose improvements to the quality control process
  • Prepare and communicate testing and inspection results with the team to ensure quality control standards are satisfied and process changes can be implemented
  • Ensure that all documentation, records, and processes comply with ISO 9001: 2015
  • Provide training to both QC and production teams
  • Acquire and report department metrics at team meetings
  • Able to prioritize work and communicate expectation to all affected parties

Qualifications

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar quality control role
  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Bio-Medical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering required
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
  • A solid understanding of ISO 9001: 2015
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Good written and verbal skills
  • Ability to use measuring devices like gauges, meters, calipers, and computers
  • Skilled with using computers and basic mathematics in order to analyze data sets to determine pass or fail
  • Documentation and reporting skills
  • Team work and collaboration skills
  • Must be able to lift 40 lbs
