Cellometer Tips for Counting Clumpy Cells

Tips for producing MCF7 single cells

  1. Wash cells first with calcium free medium or a few ml of trypsin beforetrypsinizing
  2. Use trypsin with EDTA for trypsinizing which helps to chelate any calcium that isnecessary for cell adhesion
  3. Wait for about 5 or more minutes with trypsin
  4. Thoroughly pipette the cells up and down when adding medium following thetrypsin step, using 10 ml sterile pipette

Tips for counting very clumpy suspension cells

  1. Add 100uL of trypsin to 1mL of cell sample
  2. Mix up and down 10X
  3. Incubate 5-10 minutes
  4. Remove sample to count
