The ViaStain™ AO Staining Solution enables the user to quantitatively determine total cell count in both pure cultures and primary samples using the Cellometer system. Acridine Orange (AO) is a nucleic acid dye that enters cells and binds to the DNA inside the nucleus. When cell counting is performed using fluorescent imaging, all cells that fluoresce green are counted, while the debris or non-cell particles are excluded, enabling accurate determination of concentration using the Cellometer system.
