The Celigo image cytometer provides a robust and scalable solution to automate the assessment of CPE and quantify viral infectivity across a wide range of plate formats. The integrated software analysis tools offer multiple methods to identify and characterize CPE including direct cell counting and confluence measurements from the whole-well images. The archived imaging data provides visual verification of the automated cell segmentation and objective analysis to eliminate observer-to-observer variability. Typical 96- or 384-well plates are scanned in under 5 minutes. The plates may also be scanned at multiple time points post-infection to characterize kinetic data related to CPE progression. Finally, the available fluorescence channels provide the opportunity to investigate functional assays or endogenous fluorescence reporters.
