How Long Does it Take to Set Up a Cellometer Spectrum Image Cytometer?

The Cellometer Spectrum Image Cytometer performs cell-based assays in minutes. The system has user-changeable fluorescent optics modules and provides flow results without flow cytometry.

An Automated Cell Counting Superhero – All in the Palm of Your Hand

Tired of manual cell counting? Let's face it, manual cell counting is tedious. When your day is filled with culturing many cell lines at one time, that's hours of your day just to get the data you need. Not only that, the manual process can be riddled with judgment errors, miscounts, and user-to-user variability. I know what you’re thinking, "You're telling me my hours hunched over a microscope counting cells may not even be producing reliable data?!" Yup. You need a superhero. "So what are my options?" Well, what if there were a powerful superhero that could take a small [...]

Cellometer on Tap – Yeast Cell Counting for Breweries

With a Nexcelom Cellometer X2 – it only takes one click & 30 seconds per sample! Cellometer has earned a reputation as the “go to” cell counter for breweries seeking accurate yeast counts, viability & vitality. Just look at the map comparing the distribution of Nexcelom’s Cellometer automated yeast counters and the Top 50 breweries in the US. Data based on beer sales volume adapted from Brewery Association (BA) [...]

Cure cancer… and brew better beer with Cellometer

Nexcelom has been using a slogan for the past few years - Better tools for better biology for better life. We manufacture better tools (Cellometer & Celigo) that help researchers perform better biology (cell counts, viability, drug discovery, cell-based assays, etc...) which leads to advances in science and better life for everyone involved! When we were coming up with the slogan, we were going to finish the third part to read "for better science" - but one of our customer groups are breweries (yeast are cells, too!)  - and we didn't want to exclude such an important group. One of [...]

BrewDog embraces and endorses Cellometer X2 technology as they expand

In 2007 two guys (and their dog) set out on a journey to revolutionize the brewing industry. With a passion for flavor, quality and a love of craft brewing, they created the BrewDog brand. Almost a decade later they are by far one of the world’s premier craft brewers, with an ever-expanding British brewery, 26 independent bars around the world, and range of brews that have become the staple of the craft connoisseurs. Along with a huge export business comes the breaking of ground on BrewDog’s new US brewery (Ohio). In order to continue producing the highest quality beers consistently [...]

These clear wall, clear bottom plates were validated with U87 MG cells and tracked using a bright-field imaging technique on the Celigo Image Cytometer. These plates are ideal for single spheroid drug screening assays and can also be used to investigate spheroid invasion with the addition of Matrigel. You can read more about the plates [...]

Craft brewers enhance brewing process and product taste using the Cellometer X1 and X2 instruments

Avery Brewing Company in Boulder, Colorado has introduced a Cellometer to their brewing process, improving their procedures, as well as the product’s taste and quality. The Cellometer is employed as a quality control check over the yeast cells inside the facility’s fermenters. Making sure the yeast cells fermenting the beer are healthy and enzymatically active ensures a high quality product, with fewer mutated and/or dying cells that can negatively affect the beer’s flavor. Adam, the owner  of Avery Brewing Co. says that the Cellometer has “changed the way we made beer and it also changed the way our beer tastes”.   Watch this episode of [...]
